‘Do Not Resuscitate’ Screenplay
BY Richard Long

TECHNICAL ADVISOR

“I worked with Rob on a new horror screenplay I’m developing, which takes place in small rural hospital. I peppered Rob with a battery of questions, a soup-to-nuts inquisition about every aspect of hospital conditions, operating procedures, staffing needs, unusual/extreme emergency room occurrences, even the psychological makeup of doctors working in an isolated environment and the daily stress they encounter. Rob was encyclopedic in his knowledge. At no time did he hesitate or hedge in his responses. I felt like I could have asked him virtually any question relating to medical issues (or anything else for that matter) and he’d have the answer at his fingertips. Plus, he was a total joy to work with. Funny, witty, incredibly articulate, but devoid of stuffy, show-off jargon or the usual arrogance you’d expect from any doctor consultation. We spoke on the phone for more than an hour and even though it was the first we had “met”, Rob was completely relaxed, friendly and accessible.  Also concise, which I really appreciated. No meandering responses, or time-consuming digressions. He got right to the point and remained focused. I would recommend Rob wholeheartedly for any writer, director or producer looking for a technical advisor on a project with medical content. When I asked Rob why he got into the advisor biz, he told me he was sick of watching medical TV shows and films with so many off-base elements. If you want to get it right, call Rob.”
